Rackspace Product Manager Grant Herbon is using his sabbatical to take a nationwide trip to hit 15 Major League Baseball games in 45 days. The trek will take him 9,300 miles. And in the process he’s raising money for Windcrest Little League (donate here: http://windcrestbaseball.org/donations/). Herbon is calling it Le Tour De Baseball 2012. Rackspace last week announced that Cloud Servers now supports CentOS 6.3 and FreeBSD 9, two operating systems that give customers another powerful choice for their cloud infrastructure.
F5 Networks has honored Rackspace with a 2012 F5 Agility Award. F5 presents the awards to partners and customers in recognition of creativity, value and innovation with F5 application delivery solutions. Rackspace was awarded for the RackConnect™ hybrid hosting platform and its use of F5 solutions.
In a recent column in The Atlantic, author and venture advisor Bill Davidow highlighted how the high-tech industry has lost its way when it comes to customer service. He said the service focus of the high-tech pioneers who helped build the industry has faded. With Fanatical Support on the open cloud, Rackspace is bucking this trend and putting customers back in the driver’s seat.
