Cloud Block Storage Now Available
This week, Cloud Block Storage was made available to all of our customers through Unlimited Availability. The service offers our customers the ability to choose between SSD volumes and standard volumes; offers reliable performance for applications; and has a simple pricing model where customers don’t have to pay for I/O.
First Generation Movie Screening
AVID students at Roosevelt High School put together this video to promote “First Generation,” a documentary that focuses on the struggles and lessons learned by several first generation college students. In the video, Roosevelt staff and Rackers talk about being the first in their families to attend college. Rackspace and GenTX San Antonio will host a family screening of First Generation tonight at Roosevelt.
Rackspace And Hortonworks Partner For Big Data
Big Data is a big topic lately. To ease Big Data implementations, we’ve teamed up with Apache Hadoop leader Hortonworks. Together, Rackspace and Hortonworks will work to offer Hadoop on OpenStack public and private clouds, and more.
gdgt Stays Up Amid Another Major Apple Launch
Rackspace Cloud Sites customer gdgt again weathered a traffic barrage during its live blogging from Apple’s iPad mini announcement this week. The site handled roughly 4 million page views in just two hours. This is just one of many high traffic events (HTEs) gdgt has handled with Cloud Sites.
