Third Thursday Q&A: Google+ Hangout Recap

We flushed the format in this week’s Cloud Launch Team Office hours, opening up the floor for questions from all our viewers. This Hangout was such a hit that I am happy to introduce Third Thursday Open Q&A! Here are some of the highlights from last week’s Google+ Hangout.

  • I answered a question about what mobile apps are powered by the Rackspace Cloud. We looked at one popular app and examined how a mobile development company can leverage the cloud with multiple nodes under a load balancer. Drew went on to talk about how these developers can utilize Cloud Files to help store user generated assets.

These are some of the highlights from last week’s Office Hours. Be sure to check out the Rackspace Google+ Page for an announcement of our next Hangout. If you have any burning cloud questions, be sure to put them in the comments below! And remember – if we answer your cloud question on-air during a Third Thursday Open Q&A, we’ll send you a Rackspace T-Shirt.

Alan Bush is a Technical Community Manager for the Rackspace Community. What's a "Technical Community Manager"? Well, technically, it means he manages the community, but really it means helping connect people with the information they need to make awesome things in the cloud. Before pioneering the TCM role, Alan helped to create the Cloud Launch Team.

During his time on the Launch Team, Alan helped more than 100 new cloud consumers get started with cloud hosting; developed a weekly live video show, Office Hours Hangouts; was one of the first 175 Rackers to become certified "Cloud Savvy," and was awarded the Fanatical Jacket, Rackspace's highest honor for outstanding customer support.

Before Rackspace, Alan helped create the Stevie Award winning onboarding program for cloud collaboration suite Central Desktop, working directly with companies and organizations like, Sesame Workshop, and IEEE. When he's not helping customers learn how to build awesome things in the cloud, he can be found performing improv comedy with ComedySportz San Antonio, or volunteering with the Alamo Beard Club.
