Client Spotlight: Hybrid Solutions

We’ve always prided ourselves on a comprehensive client-first approach – we ensure our work is best for the customer, whatever that solution may be. For some clients, a hybrid solution is the most appropriate solution for their infrastructure needs. Our sophisticated hybrid cloud services maximize our cloud integrator capabilities, combining our Stratosphere hosted private cloud platforms with managed public environments and a customer’s on-premises environments.

Let’s take a quick look at a few of our clients who have a hybrid solution and how it’s helped them take their business to the next level.

Harmonix is a video game company that specializes in music-based video games and is the producer of the popular Rock Band series. The company quickly learned that network traffic spiked significantly when a new game was released or when there was a major holiday.

As innovators in the gaming industry, Harmonix was quick to use the benefits of cloud infrastructure, like scaling on-demand and paying only for the resources and compute consumed. The company furthered leveraged Datapipe’s cloud infrastructure by performing simple login/logout tests to simulate more than 60,000 concurrent users at once and improving the user experience while protecting the brand.

Since 2010, Findly has provided mobile software solutions and professional services to make the hiring process easier, faster, and more fluid, with the result of netting more high-quality applications. Before working with Datapipe, Findly relied on an on-site data center for its storage and hosting needs, but when it came time to upgrade, the company knew it needed an MSP on its side.

Findly chose Datapipe for three main reasons. We had the expertise and global infrastructure in place that gave Findly the confidence to feel secure in moving to a Hybrid IT solution. Findly is a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider and needed reassurance that any managed environment would meet key performance requirements. Findly also had specific hardware requirements that Datapipe could take on, requirements that other providers couldn’t meet. Finally, our service beat every other company Findly spoke with, and the result has been a unique hybrid IT solution that hosts more than 500 websites and 20 products.

Thomsons is a SaaS provider of global employee benefits solutions. The company also provides consultancy services for reward, workplace pension, and employee benefit programs. Thomsons had been working with an MSP for eight years, but when the company wanted to expand into a private cloud environment, it ran into issues with its current MSP. The search was on.

Thomsons had four key priorities: location, security, ability to scale, and customer service. It found all of that and more with Datapipe, consolidating two data centers into Datapipe’s Stratosphere private solution in the UK. Datapipe has also built a disaster recovery site for Thomsons to use as a standby facility. Application performance has increased by 30 percent, and Thomsons has an improved ability to respond to growing business needs quickly while maintaining the quality of the overall IT infrastructure.
