Datapipe + AWS: 6 Years and Counting

As we look forward to AWS re:Invent 2016, we want to reflect on the many highlights and the progress we’ve made since forging our relationship with AWS in 2010. We’ve believed in the power of AWS from the beginning and have dedicated the past six years to perfecting our knowledge, expertise, and partnerships for the AWS platform.

In 2012, Datapipe advanced the hybrid cloud by deploying the first globally available hosted private cloud platform in the industry with a direct connection to AWS. The following year, we were named an AWS Premier Consulting Partner after demonstrating our ability as a global provider of managed services and infrastructure for outsourced IT and cloud computing. We didn’t stop there, becoming one of the first AWS Managed Service Provider Partners as part of AWS’ new Managed Service Program in 2015. And with our acquisition of DualSpark last fall, we enhanced and simplified the process of managing clouds on AWS by adding deep expertise in migration and automation.

These milestones don’t even touch on our AWS advancements this year. Here are some of our recent milestones with AWS in 2016:

AWS Migration Competency

This past summer, Datapipe was one of the first among a select group of companies to be included in the launch of the new AWS Migration Competency. The AWS Competency Program is designed to provide AWS customers with qualified AWS Partner Network providers like Datapipe, who have proven track records in specialized solution and vertical areas. Datapipe has had deep experience guiding customers on their cloud journey to AWS through all phases of the migration progress, including discovery, planning, migration, and operations. This also isn’t our only AWS Competency – Datapipe also holds AWS competencies in other key areas like Oracle, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Exchange.

SOC2 Compliance

Another recent achievement was when Datapipe underwent a SOC 2 audit for the ongoing management of its global footprint of hybrid solutions, which includes its AWS environments. 14 of our global data center locations have now been SOC2 certified, giving our clients confidence in how we manage their data across the globe. The SOC2 audit also includes Datapipe’s Access and Audit Control for Cloud (DAACC). DAACC and the SOC2 certification combined allows businesses to take advantage of Datapipe’s AWS managed services and provides full confidence in how that data is secured, regardless of physical location. This was another ‘first’ for Datapipe and AWS, making Datapipe the only AWS managed services provider partner with global hybrid capabilities to earn SOC2 compliance out of the originally selected AWS Premier Partners.

Acquisition of Adapt

Earlier this year, we acquired leading UK managed cloud services provider and Advanced AWS Consulting Partner, Adapt to expand our European presence and enhance capabilities for clients worldwide. This was our latest advancement for Datapipe as we continue to gain momentum in the management of multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and our own hosted private cloud, Stratosphere.
