Fuel Your Career With Rackspace Training For OpenStack

It takes a lot more than software to properly design, deploy and operate a cloud at scale. Fortunately, there are lots of ways for developers and architects to learn about OpenStack.

And with OpenStack skills in high demand, there’s no better time than now to dig into it. You can read through the OpenStack Operations Guide, written in book sprint-style by some of the industry’s top tech experts, or you can join the growing open source community at OpenStack Summit Hong Kong in November.

Another option is to immerse yourself in a hands-on fundamentals course through the Rackspace Training for OpenStack program, where you’ll walk away with the experience and knowledge to set up, administer and troubleshoot clouds.

We’re pretty thrilled with the momentum that the training program has had over the past year – we’ve offered training at a host of key locations, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and have training sessions planned at four more major universities this fall. That’s why we’ve decided to expand our offerings and give you a few more ways to boost your OpenStack brainpower and fuel your career in technology.

Starting today, you can register for the first-ever on demand e-learning training course under the Rackspace Training for OpenStack program. The online class will be available to the public in October and pre-registration opens today.

We’ve also added four new classroom-based courses taught by a fanatical team of Rackspace experts who have deep experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure. These new courses include:

  • OpenStack Networking – Neutron – Students learn how to use Neutron to provide a virtual Networking-as-a-Service between interface devices and allows the student to utilize an API to build and configure networking infrastructure
  • Building Cloudy Apps – Students learn how to build applications that are “cloud aware,” using Python to explore the concept of horizontal scaling, advantages of APIs and the skills needed to benefit a DevOps organization
  • Security in the Cloud – Students learn how to develop and apply security safeguards to each virtual layer of an OpenStack environment
  • Hadoop on OpenStack – Introduces students to the big data processing platform, Apache Hadoop, its components and deployments in an OpenStack cloud

And that’s not all. We’ve also created a training partner program so you can learn from some of our leading certified partners, like New Horizons and Skyline Technologies.

The demand for OpenStack expertise is skyrocketing. And it’s no secret that as one of the world’s largest open source communities OpenStack is continuing to grow rapidly. At its three-year anniversary mark in July, OpenStack had 10,000 contributors and more than 1,000 code authors in 120 countries who contributed a combined one million lines of code.

The growth is truly amazing. Don’t get left behind. Join us as members of the dynamic and diverse OpenStack community and learn the skills to not only build clouds, but also build a career, on OpenStack.
