Getting Ready for Sitecore Symposium 2017

This year’s Sitecore Symposium kicks off Oct. 16 in Las Vegas, and if you’re among the many marketers, developers, partners and customers who rely on Sitecore for your web content management needs, this is a must-attend conference for you.

Each year, the symposium offers excellent opportunities to learn about the latest and greatest Sitecore developments and releases, hear from experts about how they’re putting Sitecore to use and network with the huge group of attendees that flock to the four-day event.

This year, I’ll be leading a session with Rackspace Architect Kelly Rusk titled “Security in Azure: Make Sitecore a Hard Target — Securing Azure PaaS and Beyond.” The session kicks off on Tues., Oct. 17 and will run from 3:15 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Montego ABC.

Security is constantly in the news today, and as a result, it’s become one of the most pressing concerns for technical teams (and really the whole organization — from developers all the way to leadership). When deciding the topic for our panel this year, Kelly and I both felt it was important to relay the Azure PaaS security story as it relates to Sitecore.

By gaining a clear understanding of how this technology works, attendees will be able to take away actionable insights into ways they can ensure their business, brand and customers remain secure while maintaining the high performance they’ve come to expect from Sitecore.

During the session, we’ll highlight the value of having a repeatable way to secure Sitecore, and we’ll go over the specific tools needed to make it a reality, as security can be an overwhelming topic for many.

While the collective “Cloud IQ” of the Sitecore world is growing by leaps and bounds, it doesn’t always encompass cutting-edge options for improving security. I believe the “cloudy” thinking of our security approach will shed light on some of the lesser-known facets within Azure, and specifically as it relates to Sitecore.

If you want to find out more about the ways Rackspace helps customers with Sitecore, make sure and visit our booth (#200) on the symposium exchange floor. We’ll be happy to walk you through the different ways can help you get the most out of your applications, including:

  • Flexible infrastructure and deployment options.
  • Deep expertise and application monitoring.
  • Purpose built solutions for optimal performance.
  • An available 100 percent production platform uptime guarantee.

I look forward to seeing you there, and I hope you’re able to join our session. As always, you can visit Rackspace to find out more about all the options we provide for Sitecore and the other ways we help customers as part of our Digital Managed Services.

See you in Las Vegas!
