Google+ Hangout: Rackspace Specialists To Discuss Patching Heartbleed At Scale

It’s been a week since we all learned about the Heartbleed OpenSSL bug, and our Rackspace server security and administration specialists have been busy proactively patching the vulnerability for our customers.

We’ve learned so much, we want to share it with the public. I’ll be hosting “Stop the bleeding: How to patch Heartbleed at scale,” a live Google+ Hangout on air on Wednesday, April 16, at 1 p.m. CDT to discuss the Heartbleed bug, its impact and the tools we used to quickly identify and patch the vulnerability for our customers.

You can watch the Hangout live here:

Rackspace security and operations specialists Hart Hoover, Kyle Kelley, Jim Freeman and others will join me for this Hangout, during which we’ll discuss the unique challenges presented by the Heartbleed bug. This is an interactive Q&A, so please bring your questions for our specialists.

You can RSVP for the event here:

During his time on the Launch Team, Alan helped more than 100 new cloud consumers get started with cloud hosting; developed a weekly live video show, Office Hours Hangouts; was one of the first 175 Rackers to become certified "Cloud Savvy," and was awarded the Fanatical Jacket, Rackspace's highest honor for outstanding customer support.

Before Rackspace, Alan helped create the Stevie Award winning onboarding program for cloud collaboration suite Central Desktop, working directly with companies and organizations like, Sesame Workshop, and IEEE. When he's not helping customers learn how to build awesome things in the cloud, he can be found performing improv comedy with ComedySportz San Antonio, or volunteering with the Alamo Beard Club.
