During SXSW Interactive 2013, Rackspace has been spreading the word on the open cloud to the masses. And among our team of open cloud evangelists is the Rackspace Open Cloud Community. You can find the community team at Champions Sports Bar & Restaurant throughout SXSW. They’re here signing people up to join the community, answering question on open and cloud and handing out some really sweet t-shirts.
“The Rackspace Open Cloud Community was created to enable customers, potential customers, vendors and partners one space to collaborate and engage with each other and discuss anything regarding the open cloud, as well as ask questions,” explains Charnell Lucich, Community Engagement Manager with the Rackspace Open Cloud Community. “We have a lot of our Rackers out there ready to help, answer questions and just engage with anybody that comes to the community.”
The Open Cloud Community is a sweet little slice of the web where you can connect with other technophiles to learn about the cloud, share your genius, solve problems and make new friends. It’s not just a website; it is community that brings together people from all over the globe who want to share their knowledge of the open cloud and learn more about it.
There are several forums within the Open Cloud Community, including a General Discussion Forum, where you can post basic questions, and a Developer Forum, where dev community members who dream in 1s and 0s can spend their time talking about code and sharing tips and tricks. You’ll also find Product Forums for information on Rackspace Open Cloud products, a RackConnect Forum, a Dedicated Hosting Forum and a Community Suggestions and Feedback Forum, where you can let the community know what you want to get out of it.
“The Rackspace Open Cloud Community is more community in the true sense than just a website to go to for information,” concludes Wil Sensenderfer, the Rackspace Open Cloud Community’s Technical Community Manager. “Community is just what it sounds like. It’s a place where people want to be, they want to be able to corroborate with their neighbors, with other people of the same interest.”
