More Datapipe Momentum: Our Acquisition of Adapt

This summer wrapped up in a whirlwind of excitement, as we acquired Adapt, a leading UK Managed Cloud Services provider and Advanced AWS consulting partner. With Adapt joining the Datapipe team we will increase our scale and service capabilities in the United Kingdom, and provide Adapt clients with access to the broader European market as well as Asia and North America. We’re confident this strategic business decision will provide significant value to our clients, old and new.

A bit of background on Adapt: the company specializes in agile hybrid solutions that deliver the best of public and private cloud to clients as a single service. The company was founded in 2001 and has multiple offices in the London metropolitan area. Adapt’s mission to deliver a great managed service experience aligns well with our client commitment and approach to the market. Together, we’ll continue to expand our global scope and reach to the benefit of the enterprises we serve.

A Look Back

This is the third big move for us in the past year and a half, with the acquisition of AWS migration and assessment company DualSpark back in September, as well as the acquisition of Big Data multi-cloud pioneer GoGrid in January 2015. As a result of those business moves, our clients have seen benefits from the speed at which we can migrate complex workloads to the cloud and create new big data projects.

Looking Ahead

Similar to the past two acquisitions, acquiring Adapt provides us with enhanced capabilities to be our clients’ true partner on their journey to the cloud. As the deal analysis from 451 Research explains it:

Rich Dolan briefly served as Senior Director of Corporate Marketing at Rackspace. Before that he was Senior Vice President of Marketing for Datapipe, where he spent 16 years developing and driving its world class marketing team as the company grew into one of the leading global managed service providers, from the early days as a start up to a global enterprise player. He built and oversaw digital marketing and demand generation, event management, content management, internal communications, brand management, partner marketing and web properties. Rich managed the consolidation of marketing resources from five acquisitions, and led Datapipe to thirteen Gartner Magic Quadrant recognitions across the globe, including four placements in the Leaders quadrant. Before Datapipe, Rich spent four years with web design firm RareMedium, where he designed and architected web presences and client facing applications for Madison Square Garden, JP Morgan, Atlantis, XM Radio and Credit Suisse First Boston. Rich graduated summa cum laude from the New York Institute of Technology with a BA in computer graphics. He lives in New York with his wife and daughter.
