Performance Cloud Servers Now In Dallas Region

Rackspace Performance Cloud Servers are available now in our Dallas region. That means you can leverage our new breed of Cloud Servers built specifically for exceptional levels of application performance in each of our three US regions – North Virginia (IAD), Chicago (ORD) and, as of today, Dallas (DFW).

Now, you can architect powerful cloud solutions across all three regions for the redundancy and scalability your cloud applications demand.

And, don’t forget, we’ve already made Performance Cloud Servers available in London (LON); and our Hong Kong and Sydney regions are on track for the first half of next year.

Our customers have told us that their cloud applications demand high levels of performance and reliability; and we listened. We engineered our Performance Cloud Servers to deliver the astonishing speed, throughput, reliability and scaling that today’s sophisticated cloud applications require.

Built on OpenStack, Performance Cloud Servers are ideal for a hybrid cloud environment that offers the best-fit infrastructure for each of your workloads, whether they run best on the public cloud, the private cloud, bare metal servers or a combination of these platforms.

These new servers are backed by 100 percent SSD storage, powerful Intel Xeon processors and amazing increases in RAM capability. They are ideal for tackling a large variety of workloads from simple web hosting applications to large NoSQL data stores. Performance Cloud Servers have up to 120GB of RAM –  4x the size of the largest available Standard Cloud Server, which expands the types of workloads you can run in Rackspace Cloud. We have also improved network bandwidth with 40Gbps to every host machine to deliver lightning fast connections for other Cloud Servers and the Internet, and also for Cloud Block Storage.

Our tests show Performance Cloud Servers significantly outperform comparatively-sized Standard Cloud Servers with as much as 2.1 times more processing power; 59 times more disk I/O; 3.6 times more network bandwidth; 2.8 times better overall performance; and 10 times better MongoDB performance.

But don’t take our word for it. In independent benchmark tests, Cloud Spectator, a leading performance and pricing analyst firm for IaaS providers, found that Performance Cloud Servers smoke our Standard Cloud Servers models. Our customers, too, are experiencing the benefit of blazing speeds. Commissions Inc. saw a 6x to 8x performance boost in its data processing workloads; and Blastro Networks saw eye-popping improvements in the quality of its live HD concert video streams.

More customers are spinning up Performance Cloud Servers each day. We invite you to give them a try – you’ll be amazed.
