Racker Harry Max To Close Out IA Summit 2012

Rackspace Vice President of Experience Design, Harry Max, will take the stage at the IA Summit 2012 in New Orleans this weekend closing out the show with the final keynote and urging the UX community to be more than just a commodity.

The IA Summit is a marquee event for those who are redefining strategy and structure in support of cross -channel systems and user experiences. The 12-year-old conference brings together people and ideas in information architecture (IA) and drills unto the evolving ecosystem of devices and platforms and how user experience and information architecture play major roles.

Max will bring to the stage his expertise in the “everything experience” which comprises product design, customer service, employee experience and more. With vast expertise in UX management, software and other facets of the industry, Max has been recognized as a major player in the app design and development space, designing all of the user interaction concepts behind the first secure web shopping cart at Virtual Vineyards, aka wine.com, in 1994.

In his IA Summit closing keynote titled “Leading Across Channels” – scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, March 25 in the Empire 1 room of New Orleans’ downtown Hyatt Regency – Max will highlight the shift UX has undergone over the last decade and how some companies and their customers are missing out on the value that UX can provide if they looked to the future.

Max will lay down the gauntlet and challenge the complacency of success that the UX community is currently feeling, highlight the opportunities that lie ahead and pinpoint some of the steps that should be taken to prepare for a greater leadership role not only in the UX community, but in individual careers.
