This week kicks off event season in earnest as the Rackspace Managed Security team will be hitting three different events in three different cities. Check out details below, and come check us out if you can! Rest assured, if we’re not in your neck of the woods this time around, we’ll likely be there soon.
On April 4, Director of Strategy and Engineering for Rackspace Managed Security, Jarret Raim, will be in Dallas as the anchor speaker at Solve Connections.
Raim will speak about security in a multi-cloud world, which continues to gain interest as businesses increasingly rely on multiple clouds to run different workloads.
The event is being held at chef Kent Rathburn’s Hickory restaurant, and after the speakers are done, attendees will enjoy a “Chopped” experience guided by one of the restaurant chefs. Future Solve Connections events will be announced soon as well, so keep an eye out for those.
Joining industry-leading security practitioners from companies such as Aflac, GE Transportation, Century Link and IBM, RMS Director of Operations Daniel Clayton will be speaking as part of Thursday afternoon’s panel — “Protecting Your Enterprise from Corporate Espionage: Keeping Insider Threats Outside.”
Moderated by cybersecurity researcher Noah Tobin from the Georgia Tech Research Institute, the panel will focus on the identifiers and triggers of corporate espionage which often go undetected. The panel will also discuss ways to best defend against this type of cybercrime.
Finally, on the same day (April 6), members of the RMS team will also be across the country wrapping up the week at the ISACA SV Spring Conference in Santa Clara, California. Our Customer Security Operations Center Manager Travis Mercier will speak about security operations in a world of data breaches.
Not long ago, prevention was the name of the game when it came to IT security. But in today’s world, advanced cyberthreats are employing new tools and strategies to infiltrate your systems, changing the conversation from if you’ll be breached to when. Mercier will share his thoughts on why a new approach is needed, and why it must be laser focused on your most valuable resource — your data. He will also discuss ways to provide detection, response and remediation when that data is in jeopardy.
We hope to see you this week at any of the events listed above, and if you can’t make it, stay tuned — we’ll be posting about upcoming events soon.
