Rackspace Recognised Globally at Worldwide Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards

It doesn’t matter how great a pizza base is, without the topping it’s a pretty boring bit of dough. At Rackspace, we recognise that great partnerships not only deliver a great product — like a pizza base and topping — they make it supreme.

I’m proud to say that Rackspace has been recognised as a finalist in the global 2017 Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards. And not once but twice — with finalists in Australia and New Zealand and in the UK. To be chosen as finalists from more than 2,800 entries from Microsoft partners in 115 countries worldwide demonstrates the high standards both of these teams have set in their respective regions

In the ANZ region, Rackspace was selected in the Cloud Apps category for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of Microsoft Platform-as-a-Service technology for Australia’s largest pizza chain, Domino’s Pizza. This is a global award, so the team faced competition from partners around the world.

A core project challenge for the ANZ team was to migrate a heavy, data-rich platform to a new environment. We had to ensure real-time scalability and availability of Domino’s digital ordering system, which channels up to 70 percent of their sales.

A combination of Microsoft Azure and Rackspace Fanatical Support created a solution that is expected to serve as the next iteration of Domino’s global e-commerce platform, helping to reduce infrastructure costs by up to 25 percent month on month.

The Microsoft 2017 Country Partner of the Year Award recognizes partners at the country level that have had substantial growth in their customer base and/or revenue by driving customer impact and satisfaction with Microsoft Cloud offerings.

Partners receiving this award have demonstrated effective engagement with their local Microsoft office and demonstrated innovation, competitive differentiation, and customer value that results in a profitable business that showcases the benefits of using Microsoft Cloud services.

The UK nomination for this award was based on our Fanatical Support for Microsoft Azure offering. This is the answer for businesses facing challenges in all stages of their cloud journey — from planning a move to the cloud all the way to optimizing their existing cloud workloads.

Rackspace blends technology and automation plus human experts to deliver ongoing architecture, security and 24x7x365 operations backed by hundreds of Microsoft certified engineers and architects helping the customer to get the most out of their Microsoft investment.

Microsoft believes its ecosystem of innovative partners, such as Rackspace, is the cornerstone for delivering transformative solutions to our mutual customers.

As a global business, we are proud to have achieved 10 Microsoft Partner Competencies earlier this year, allowing our regional offices to tap into industry leading expertise across specialised business areas.

If you’d like to see more about our work in Australia and New Zealand, you can view the Domino’s video case study on our website. Congratulations to everyone from Microsoft, Domino’s and Rackspace who were involved in this fantastic project!
