Facebook yesterday played host to President Barack Obama in a town hall interview conducted live through the social network. The “Shared Responsibility and Shared Prosperity” interview focused heavily on the economy and, beyond serving as a watershed moment for social media, could be one of the only times Mark Zuckerberg has been seen wearing a tie.

Following the discussion with President Obama, Startup America Partnership hosted a panel about entrepreneurship and innovation. Startup America announced $400 million of new commitments from companies including Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Intuit and HP.

Rackspace respects the importance of bringing startups and businesses together. Our commitment to this cause was the inspiration behind the Rackspace Startup Program.

Working with TechStars, General Assembly and 500 Startups, Rackspace has begun providing cloud computing resources to do our part in fueling the success of startups. Rackspace is committed to helping entrepreneurs drive the next generation of businesses through cloud innovation.

The video below is a recording yesterday’s Startup America panel. Shout out to Spoondate co-founder Raisa Nebie. Spoondate is a part of 500 Startups and Raisa recently presented her company at the 500 Startups Demo Day.

Before leaving in 2016, Angela ran integrated marketing campaigns for Rackspace. She started in 2003 and did everything from Linux support, account management, sales, product marketing and marketing. She left Rackspace in 2005 to work for PEER 1 Hosting but returned in 2009 because she was interested in the cloud computing movement. Angela is a strong believer in the power of storytelling.
