Software Developers Forum – Cloud Computing

Thursday night, the NCTC[1] will be sponsoring another meeting of the Software Developers Forum, where several of our developers will be leading a round table discussion on Cloud Computing.
Cloud computing has, seemingly overnight, entered the common vernacular. Many promises are being made about the ills that will be solved by the miracle of cloud computing, and with the number of news stories about (and amount of capital being funneled into) the technology, it’s easy to get swept away by the hype. We’d like to spend some time discussing actual applications of cloud computing, and discussing real world problems that can be solved (as well as those that can’t) by cloud computing.
In the interest of full disclosure, Mailtrust is a division of Rackspace[2], who has their own suite of services based on cloud computing technologies. While we are leading this month’s meeting, we fully intend to have an open and honest discussion about cloud computing.
The round table will be on Thursday, May 7th at 6pm. Luna Innovations[3] is hosting the event at 1 Riverside Circle, Suite 400, Roanoke, VA. If you would like to attend, please kindly RSVP to Michele Wright at NetVentures (Call 540-527-9000 or email Michele[4]).
