The 12th Annual Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE 12x) kicks off Friday at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, and Rackspace will be there hosting informative workshops and holding a contest to see if you’ve got what it takes to fix a broken server.
The Break-Fix Challenge will be held Saturday, February 22 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 23 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Rackspace booth. For the challenge, you will be given a broken server and a list of “answers;” your job is to figure out what is broken and resolve the issue within 15 minutes so we can test the answer and get a positive result. The person with the fastest time wins. Prizes will be awarded at the booth to the first, second and third place winners on Sunday, February 23 at 2:45 p.m. You must be present to win.
Along with the Break-Fix Challenge, Rackspace software developers Shaunak Kashnap and Zack Shoylev will be on-hand at the Rackspace booth to answer questions and to host three in-booth mini workshops. The workshops are Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23. Here’s the full schedule (workshops are at the same time both days):
- 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Uploading files to the Rackspace Cloud and publishing them via a CDN
- 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Creating performance servers and load balancers in the Rackspace cloud
- 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Creating databases in the Rackspace Cloud
Come check out the workshops and get a free t-shirt. Also be sure to swing by the Rackspace booth to try the Break-Fix Challenge and have your toughest questions answered.
We can’t wait to see you all at SCALE 12x in L.A.!
