Feb. 11 update: The TechStars Demo Day livestream is underway!
As a longtime supporter of startups, and startup accelerator TechStars, Rackspace is proud to be a part of the first-ever livestream of a TechStars Demo Day, which will kick off at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 11 at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio.
We’re especially proud that this particular demo day is for the TechStars Cloud Class, also located here in San Antonio, Rackspace’s hometown.
Each of the startups in this class consists of a small team with a big idea. After three months of product development, intense mentoring, examining and re-examining every facet of their business, each startup has pitched to the investment community, and are now poised to experience exponential growth.
With growth comes incredible opportunity for success, but it also comes with a set of unique challenges which can determine whether or not a company survives.
Check out this short video of Rackspace CTO John Engates describing why Rackspace is such a proud global sponsor of TechStars:
One of those challenges is having the hosting infrastructure necessary to accommodate sudden growth. A startup that spends months or years making countless sacrifices and grinding through 100-hour weeks only to have its web site or application crash on its big day loses its only chance to make a positive first impression — and quite possibly causes irreparable damage to the business’ chances of future success.
At Rackspace, we help startups and businesses of all sizes meet these challenges head on. Rather than simply providing our customers with the raw infrastructure to host a web site, database or application, then leaving them to figure out how to use those resources, we work with our customers every step of the way to make sure they’re prepared for the moment when their idea takes off.
We provide our Fanatical Support as soon as a customer creates an account, to prevent mishaps from happening in the first place. Support has been the cornerstone of our business since we were a startup 17 years ago, and we’ve recently expanded that support to include not only our own OpenStack-based infrastructure, but for other providers as well.
We now offer Fanatical Support for both Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, so no matter where our customers choose to locate their workloads, they have a team of experts standing beside them to handle the day-to-day management of their resources and help ensure they’re prepared for whatever is around the corner.
Managing infrastructure takes time and expertise, and Rackspace is proud to have an industry-leading number of AWS certified engineers, as well as certified experts in Microsoft Azure and OpenStack. Leveraging that expertise allows our customers to focus on tasks core to their business, while we handle the infrastructure needed to keep it up and running.
