Rackspace was announced as the winner of the Best Cloud Support Provider 2019 – Large Companies at the Cloud Excellence Awards 2019. The evening saw our EMEA CTO Lee James, British Heart Foundation’s CTO Ursula Dolton and star Rackers attend the ceremony to hear the good news in person [from left to right: Compere, Catherine Staite, Devika Mistry, Daljit Verma, Anil Jalli and Leah Cook].
The award recognises cloud providers who support their customers’ journeys into the cloud with strategic guidance and direct implementation. At Rackspace, we have 21 years of technology experience during which we have helped our customers at every stage of the cloud journey end-to-end.
The winning entry highlighted how our Fanatical Experience, which is our commitment to being customer-centric for two of our customers, has benefitted The British Heart Foundation and Nordic fashion retailer Boozt.
We supported the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) digital transformation to enable its aim of investing more than £1bn in research over the next decade. The charity wanted to transform the role that technology plays within the organisation to better help patients and to also support its fundraising efforts. The BHF’s website is a key driver for engaging with stakeholders, donors, patients, and carers.
With the support of Rackspace, the BHF migrated its workloads onto Microsoft Azure and benefited from our platform expertise. We were integral in helping the BHF redesign its website so it could easily scale in the future.
The migration project took a Professional Services-led approach, providing strategic guidance to improve the charity’s stakeholder experience, and ultimately, work towards its promise to beat heartbreak forever.

Shopping never dropping
We accelerated the value of the cloud for Nordic fashion retailer Boozt who migrated to Google Cloud. This has meant Boozt is able to react faster to market trends, grow its customer base, and handle increased traffic.
Our partnership with Boozt provided them with access to an extended knowledgeable, experienced team of cloud specialists who helped design and implement a solution for the retailer’s specific opportunities and challenges. Following the migration, Boozt experienced 10 times the traffic in customer visits over Black Friday weekend – without a minute of downtime or any performance issues.
Aurelijus Valeiša, Web Development Director at Boozt, said: “Working with Rackspace means we can access a team that already has a lot of knowledge building out dedicated data centres and working with hardware.”
Being customer-driven is the centrepiece of Rackspace’s culture which is also reflected in its recent EMEA expansion plans. Announced at the end of 2018, Rackspace is increasing its footprint in German and Northern European markets to support new and existing customers across the region in undertaking cloud projects, providing local expertise coupled with global scale.
