In the spirit of giving and goodwill, a group of our Rackers rolled up their sleeves, slipped into their overalls, and picked up their paintbrushes to do a week of volunteering at a local retirement home.
This was part of our ‘Rack Gives Back’ programme, which gives every Racker a chance to give something back to the community. Every Racker is allowed a certain number of hours off work for charity work. We’re known for delivering Fanatical Support® to our customers and we also like to deliver that kind of support to communities where we live, work and play.
So, last week our Rackers visited Orwell Close retirement home and gave the whole place a facelift, something that we hope will brighten up the days of the residents and their visitors.
This is just one example of our Rack Gives Back programme – over the years we’ve done all sorts of different activities, from driving across Europe in a second hand car to raffles, BBQs and not forgetting the three peaks challenge raising over £30k for Cancer Research (over the last year) whilst having quite a lot of fun in the process too. We also do Movember every year a moustache cat-walk challenge, which helped raise nearly £5,000 for prostate cancer.
Supporting the community through grants, hosting services and employee volunteer programmes is a major part of what Rackspace is all about. We’ve worked with lots of different charities and community groups in the past and are always open to potential partnerships with new organisations.
