Rackspace Surpasses 300 AWS Certifications

SAN ANTONIO – July 12, 2016 - Rackspace® (NYSE: RAX) today announced that its Fanatical Support® for Amazon Web Services™ (AWS) global team of architects and engineers now collectively have achieved more than 300 professional and associate AWS certifications. This AWS expertise is the foundation for the status of Rackspace as an audited AWS Managed Service Provider and AWS DevOps Competency partner in the Amazon Partner Network (APN).

Many businesses want to realize the power of AWS but lack certified AWS experts within their company to design, deploy, operate and optimize environments and workloads running on AWS. Locating, hiring and retaining technical experts in possession of AWS certifications can be time consuming, costly, and provide outcomes relevant for a limited set of use cases. Fanatical Support for AWS provides a solution to this challenge that delivers depth, breadth and scale of expertise for businesses running on AWS.

AWS certifications are achieved through comprehensive exams that evaluate the candidate’s real world understanding of AWS. The base of knowledge from Rackspace spans all AWS certifications, including DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator, Developer, and Solution Architect. Fanatical Support for AWS provides worldwide presence, with approximately 40 percent of its certified AWS experts based in the Americas, 35 percent based in Europe and 25 percent located in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. With its global footprint and breadth of certified skills, Rackspace certified employees can provide managed services to help meet the needs of virtually any AWS use case.

“Our customers come to Rackspace for Fanatical Support and our standard is to serve those customers with 100 percent AWS certified technologists,” said Chris Cochran, senior vice president and general manager of AWS at Rackspace.  “To meet customer demand, we have more than doubled the number of Rackspace AWS certifications since the launch of our offering in late 2015.”

Not only do Fanatical Support for AWS customers benefit from at-scale AWS expertise, but also Rackspace’s deep knowledge of complementary DevOps technologies, including Docker, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, and others.
